When does north shore lobster lobster fishing end this year?

Good morning Ashley,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. The spring lobster fishing season on the north shore closed just before Canada Day, July 1. Live lobster is now stored in fresh salt water tanks and available fresh to markets and restaurants.

The fall lobster season begins later in the summer in different zones, typically on the south side of the Island.

I invite you to download or order our 2024 visitor’s guide. You can always stay in touch by signing up for the Tourism PEI newsletter which includes details on upcoming festivals and events and recipes too!

Have a wonderful summer!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
