Hello Gita,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. The Blue Winds Tea Room serves afternoon tea complete with scones and clotted cream. Be sure to visit with friends so that you can share a serving of their signature dessert - lemon meringue bread crumb pudding coined “New Moon Pudding” by L.M. Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables. You’ll find her birthplace located just a short distance up the road in New London.

If you are visiting in July, keep an eye out for the annual strawberry social at Bideford Parsonage Museum, a lovely afternoon complete with rhubarb cordial and tea.

You can visit the Tyne Valley Tearoom to experience their Fancy Afternoon Tea. This four-course experience begins at 2:00 p.m. and promises to transport you to a gentler world,  help you relax, and settle into a lovely afternoon of discovery, taste, and laughter.

Enjoy!

Valerie

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
