Which Campground is the Best for children (5 and 7 years old) (playground, activities, beach, etc).? We will visit you in July (13 to 18 ). And when can we do the reservation in a provincial park campground ? Thank you

Hello Johanne,
Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.
Prince Edward Island has eight beautiful provincial campgrounds. There are no entry fees to these campgrounds, only a charge for the overnight service site. Generally, park lines and booking sites open for reservations mid April with the exact date announced in March. Children love the playground at Brudenell River Provincial Park. In addition, the province has about a dozen provincial day use parks. A favorite destination of children is the Kings Castle Provincial Park in the Murray River area of the Points East Coastal Drive. Other beach ideas to consider include Argyle Shore, Canoe Cove or Chelton Beach. They are the red sand beaches along the south shore. One of the most spectacular beaches on PEI is the one known as The Singing Sands at the Basin Head Provincial Park.
The Prince Edward Island National Park has two campgrounds and centrally located to the children attractions and activities in Cavendish. Also, there are many privately owned campgrounds on the Island. Popular children ones include Twin Shores, Sunset and Marco Polo to name a few. The Tourism PEI website is a useful resource to provide further details along with great ideas in planning a visit to PEI.
July is an excellent time for camping on Prince Edward Island!

Kevin Barbour

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
