Hi! Where is the place place to eat fresh lobster and crab in May in Charlottetown? Where is the place place to book a whale tour in PEI? Is their whale tours available in May ?

Hello Chantal,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander! Our fishermen are busy gearing up for this year's lobster season and will be heading out to the water on Monday if the weather permits! So yes, May is a great time to get fresh lobster in Charlottetown.
Lobster on the Wharf is open for the season and Water Prince Corner Shop are both great places to get a lobster feast! The Merchantman Fresh Seafood and Oyster Bar is another great choice!
A whale tour or a deep-sea fishing excursion is harder to come by in May. Our charter boats are commercial fishermen who will be busy lobster fishing in May. Whales are elusive here but there are deep-sea fishing charters where there is a chance that you will get to see a whale.
MacNeill's Tuna and Deep Sea Fishing Charter starts taking out charters on June 1st. It may be worth a try. They will be fishing lobsters at that time, and the weather can be still pretty cold and rough in May, and he may put you to work but he might consider it if you're here at the end of May, closer to June.
See you soon!
Valerie
P.S. I spent a summer in Moonbeam many many years ago! I had the best time, what a beautiful area!
