I would like to visit an oyster farm.Can I go out and harvest some.

Thank you for your question to Ask an Islander.

You certainly can enjoy the experience of harvesting oysters. Tong & Shuck is an experience located in Cardigan, in the Points East Coastal Drive area. There is also Tong & Taste: A Briny Experience in the North Enmore area or the North Cape Coastal Drive. I alway encourage people to check out our beginners guide to oysters.

Maybe you can add visiting a few oyter houses, like Landmark Oyster House, Valley Pearl Oysters, Malpeque Oyster Barn and many more.

After preparing the oysters you may wish to make an oyster chowder or my favourite PEI Oyster Rockefeller.
