A turn of the century summer gathering location for many of New York`s aristocratic theatre crowd, Fortune has been the scene of a variety of historic events over the course of the last 150 years. From the early 19th century tenant farmers who rebelled against their absentee landlords, to providing the setting for American playwright Elmer Harris` "Johnny Belinda", Fortune has long been a centre of activity in Kings County. Today, Harris` original home has been restored and now houses the beautiful Inn at Bay Fortune. Featuring a four-star restaurant which boasts a dazzling array of culinary masterpieces, the Inn exudes all the elegance and regal beauty so intrinsically linked with the Fortune Peninsula.

Fortune is part of the Points East Coastal Drive Touring Region.
