It’s hard to definitively say where the “best” coffee can be found in Charlottetown as it’s very subjective and based on individual tastes and preferences.
There are various independently owned and operated local coffee houses and cafés that are popular with the locals. I think you’ll find that most, if not all, of these venues will serve speciality coffees in addition to regular coffee. They also offer food service as well. Here are several you may wish to check out:
Receiver Coffee Company – This company has two locations – 128 Richmond Street on the popular pedestrian street known as Victoria Row and a second, The Brass Shop Café, Roastery & Bakery at 178 Water Street. If you are at The Brass Shop, you might well catch the roasters producing fresh roasted coffee.
Kettle Black – This coffee enterprise has two locations – the original at 45 Queen Street in Historic Charlottetown and the Kettle Black Marché at 135 Kent Street.
Beanz Espresso Bar – This coffee shop is located at 138 Great George Street.
Leonhard’s Café and Restaurant – This trendy and popular café is located at 142 Great George Street.
In addition, there are the usual coffee shop chains for those who are brand loyal – Timothy’s, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and Robins.
All of these coffee shops are located in the downtown core of the city. I hope you get to check out several, or all, of these suggested coffee shops and find your personal favourite!
